This small canvas (6x6) with deep sides started out red, if
you can believe it. But I didn’t like the color, so went to gold. Unfortunately, this one went so quickly that I took no in-progress pics, other than this one!
As it evolved I used “old gold”, “gold” and “bronze” to age
it out to the corners, leaving the bit in the middle/right brighter for a
message.
After the first layer of gold paint, I began adding puffy
stickers in the lower left hand corner. I continued to add until it felt
“done”, which ended up being when the entire sheet of stickers was gone.
Then I chose a rub-on quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, and
other rub-ons. I have a bit more tinkering to do. I’d like to lighten up the
raised parts and darken the underneath a bit more. And I think there are too
many butterflies, so I may take them off or paint over them.
