In Progress: Birds & Bicycles Bombarded by Coconuts of Wakefulness



The title is quirky, I’ll admit, but it makes sense if you read the poem below the dark purple bird. The last stanza reads “In the garden of gentle sanity/May you be bombarded by coconuts of wakefulness.” I love this. I’m honestly not sure who the poem is written by, but I will attempt to find out.

The lettering is free-hand, no stencils. I'm working on this, and I like this a lot.

I have a few more little things to do with this one before I call it done.

I really enjoyed layering this one up with lots of paper. Probably about 3 or 4 layers. I think initially I was thinking it would be another traveling painting, but then I found those awesome bird stencils and went from there!
