Day 20 30X30

I started this one with just a dictionary page on the page, with some distress stain. The flowers are hand-drawn. The quote lettering is as well - The earth laughs in flowers - ee cummings. I really like this one. The black used to age it is different for me. Usually I use browns. I like it.

Day 17 & 18 30x30 project

I'm a bit behind in posting, so I'm catching up. Here's the next two 30x30 paintings.

Day 17: Pablo Neruda Sonnet.
I've loved Pablo Neruda since college, and so when I found this sonnet on Pinterest, I printed it out. It's just so beautiful and such a magical description of love. I sort of fell into using orange and purple because those are the colors of the paper I used. The first layer of this is die-cut pieces of cardboard, which I then covered with the poem and the pieces of scrapbook paper. I really like this one.

Savannah Christmas on the River Festival re-cap

Booth set-up

Dec. 6 & 7, 2013

I wanted to do this previously, but have been busy like everyone else. So here it is, a few weeks later.

We drove down to Savannah, GA on Thursday evening and checked into the hotel on the riverfront. The next morning, we awoke, went to breakfast and headed down to check-in and started setting up.

New Year’s Day

Happy New Year! I love this quote by Alfred Lord Tennyson:

I may actually use it in a piece.
